G'day from Oz everyone, couple of us down here are looking at the INtaride intercom systems.

Any of you guys use them or had experiences, good & bad? We would love to hear first hand comments on how they work - they are considerably less expensive than the systems we can get in oz

regards

I've got an intaride setup, Got it off Ebuy, and I'm very pleased with it.
The cable I have has a 'bullit' connector for easy plug in, the sound is very good up to 'interesting' speed, and the radio ( mine is the older one, the new '80 series' is even more powerful I'm told) is easy to use, small and you can get a bike power cable if required.

The helmet fixing was quite easy ( once I got the lining out of my Suomy) the stereo helmet speakers are slim and easy to fix, and the mike is good.
I only have the bike to bike setup, but I intend to buy the RP1 ( the box with connections for MP3, phone, etc, and vox ) I was loaned one in August by a mate, and I had no problems travelling down to london, listening to music off my mini disc player at high speed, when the PMR cut in it reduces the music volume and speech was easy.
I have also spoken directly with the manager ( can't remember his name,) at HP comms, whe sell all the bits and bobs, He was very helpful, he even offered to make parts up to try and adapt wires to suit. They also do an external aerial, that gives loads more umph to the signal, may suit over 'longer' distances in Oz.

www.hpcomms.co.uk

All in all I'm very pleased with the quality, reliability, and ease of use..
The MAIN reason I went for that make was Price... I'm not sorry.
Incidently, the person I ride out with sometimes has autocom ( another good system but more pricy) and he quite often comments on how clear the comms are from my system.

Hope this helps...
Murt.

I'm In the process of some research into intercom systems as we speak, done some forum trawling and general info gathering on them and I will be getting the Intaride system.. :yo:

Top system at a good price compared to the others out there, don't think you will go wrong with one them mate ...Was going to go for the rider to pillion option but my mate is now interested in one as well so we are going for the
RP1 Advantage system..

All the info you need is here mate, you can also listen to a system demo and there is a money back gaurentee with it if you are not satisfied...

good luck

EDIT: just out of curiosity.. how does the demo sound compared to the autocom owners out there ?? anyone ? Skiers ??

Been there, and had one

The only people I know who had one were Jon & Anya...

You'll need to wait for them to come online

Must admit to using Autocom myself.

Cheers,

Hi,

I only used the bike to bike radio set up and it was faultless. Helmet gear was of good quality and the radio out preformed many other. That about all I can say about it. I have since got Autocom rider/pillion and still use the Intaride radio. All works very well together.

Intaride homepage

They even have you region on the homepage.

hope this helps.

We got 4 Intaride units between us some years a'go, when they worked, they were ok upto about 45 mph and their range was good but they (all) proved to be very unreliable with'in a short time of purchasing them.
On the + side the company was helpful in exchanging faulty parts, we just got fed-up sending them back.
We are now on Autocom which far more superior.
Hope that helps :dunno:

Intaride

I have the Intaride Rider/Pillion setup, first time we used it(couple of years ago) it was raining heavy and we were getting an occasional whistling sound feeding back through the headphones, contacted the Intaride people(very helpful) who said that this will have been caused by rainwater getting into the jackplug connection. As i say this was a couple of years ago,Intaride hadn't been on the go long,so any teething problems will i'm sure be sorted by now.Overall,a very good system and good value for money.
