Is it possible to break up conversations.
I would want to hold on to one email but not all the string of comments.

Can't you simply copy and paste the bits you want it into a word document or take a screen shot and save that?

Open Gmail.
In the top right, click the gear icon .
Click Settings.
Staying in the "General" tab, scroll down to "Conversation View." ...click conversation view to off
At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.

Changed the setting but mails still attaching to each other

It's grouping messages - like a string of messages
I want each one independent so I can delete ones I don't want.
