I wonder if the lack of response is a result of not understanding the question- must admit I didn't when I first read it.

Can you expand?

The fuses have fingers like a spade connector and push in from the top, they are then gripped by the female part of the connector from below.
If the fuse box is turned upside down it should be possible to remove the female half.
The one I need to remove is a double female (1 wire 2 fuses).

Normally there is a 'barb' to stop it pulling out but I can't see one.

Not a clue, DEG5Y

Never had a need to and you've got me curious. Why would you want to? Are you replacing the entire fusebox? Have you tried removing any of the others to see if it is just that one that is stuck? :dunno:

noobie

Clueless in most things
John would be the obvious chap but until then I wonder if looking for the relay say on ebay or david silver, might give you a picture of the relay/fuse so would show any clips or closures?

I added an extra fuse box, to tidy up the wiring, that at present feeds
  • Alarm - un switched
  • heated grips - switched
  • sat nav - switched
  • intercom - switched
I now want to add a usb double socket for general use but particularly for a week in Scotland, over this bank hol, to allow charging of extra batteries while on the move for my Contour cams.
I have two (front & rear) and eight batteries, so charging over night will be a struggle.

Anyway when I fitted the fuse box I didn't do my homework properly, thinking ( for some unknown reason ) The fuses that were switched were fed from both ends.... I snipped a wire off!
Turns out each wire fed two fuses. So I need to get it out to link it to the others.

Unsure why you would want to get one out unless it has bcome loose and is causing probs.. I have had to get one out for that very reason

I do not think you will have the tool I used but it may give you an idea how to proceed
From the top, I used a slightly modified ( made less wide ) Snap On drawer remover finger
It is a thin bit of steel .. I pushed it down the side of the thing to force the retaining tangs in a little.
Then simply used a small screwdriver to push the fuse holder through and out.
Not the easiest of jobs to say the least but it worked ok

remembering to disconnect the battery first as a precaution

Some things must be taken as read..
If someone does know to do the absolute basics thn they really should not be messing !! :-0)

Mind you....

I often get fone calls from people doing brakes on a bird.
One guy asked if he should use petrol or engine cleaner to flush the lines before refilling the system..
Another said he could not get a brake pad locator pin back in cos it was too fat ( !!!! ) could he use a nail..
Yet another removed his lines, fitted braided ones and refilled the master cylinders.. No bleeding, nothing.. Complained bitterly the lines did not work

A 180mph bike and they aint got a bloody clue yet feel it quite alright to play around with the brakes for heavens sake !!

Looks like I will be cannibalising an old set of feeler gauges!

Thought it would be along those lines but couldn't actually see anything.

There are two main types of connector
The first is a total bitch as the sticky out bit is quite small and an arse to get right.. The second ( later ones ) has a couple of larger bits that are much easier to deal with

Well, got it sorted.....

USB socket (can be seen in pic). @tu*
Old Mobile being used for FM radio and music player. @tu*

Downside...... Phone stops playing the radio while still connected to the USB
and when the charger came for my camera batteries.... it won't fit under the seat!! :bang:

The whole idea was to leave the phone running 24/7, playing its radio through the system. Using its own battery when we're not on the bike but for the usb to run it and re-charge the battery while riding.

This was to avoid always being last ready when setting off.

Plug and go, no faffing having to remove the seat to turn it on.
The radio/ music player is for my grandsons entertainment during a 5 day trip.

ps. Yes I have a sat nav, all plumbed in, sits in the middle of the yoke.
