I have a leaky right hand fork seal on my old 97 carbie, and the spanner that changed them for me before has managed to round off the recessed 8mm Allen bolt at the bottom of the fork leg.

I have seen a R/H fork on ebay from a 99 Bird and wonder will it fit?

Thanks for that. My search skills are suffering from some decay I think!

Looks like I need a single carb fork after all.

If it's the fork seal then you don't have to dismantle the whole of the forks to replace.

To answer the question, externally they are the same and will physically fit

However, the damper and sliders are different

It will work and will fit but really you should mark the efi one as being an efi one, so you can be sure to set the oil level correctly ( carb ones are 154mm air gap and efi 142mm air gap )

Can you not drill off head of bolt and take it out when dismantled.
Had to do that with beemer but the bolt had sheared due to faulty torque wrench.
When dismantled it screwed out by hand
