Fly tipping

A fad for want of a better word has developed whereby people wanting rid of old washing machines/lawnmowers/Barbecues etc just dump them at the end of their drive & usually within the day they have been taken by a couple of gents in a white flat back transit & presumably weighed in for scrap.
I have noticed that fridges & freezers are not collected & can remain for days, I guess they are no good as scrap due to the cfc's.
I was just wondering though if someone put something out & the local gestapo (council officials) saw it first could you be in bother for fly tipping?
Before anyone starts thinking "Der!!! Thick twat of course they could" we get bags shoved through our door a couple of times a week asking for old clothes to be left for collection on a Tuesday, this is not fly tipping apparently because it is a scheduled collection, now it could be argued that the gents in their transit come round at some point everyday even on a weekend so in effect it is an unscheduled but regular collection.

If you are going to leave stuff in 'charity bags' that have been put through your door it is worth looking on interwebs charity commissioner site to see if a) they are genuine (often they aren't) and b) whether more than about 2% of the proceeds go to a good cause (often they don't).

If you do decide to leave a fridge in a charity bag would you be good enough to post a picture please?:p

Seriously to get rid of fridges etc it is safer to get the council to take them away at a cost

Around here fridges & freezers stay where they are put for ages but the electric motors out of them disappear in seconds, eventually the eastern Europeans take the remains away so I suppose they are not too bothered about CFC's
