I will be travelling to France in June and am insured with Ebike insurance. Their policy does not cover Breakdown Insurane whilst in Europe, so I need to get a short term policy to cover the trip. Do you know if anyone is offering good deals on this. Any help would be appreciated. I will travel on my 2004 Honda Blackbird and the trip should last 7 days. I will not have a pillion. The AA are wanting ?42.00, which I thought was a bit steep.

Hi Ian.
Don't know about France but to get towed of the Autovia in Spain cost me 110 euros ( Bike). So it will give you some idea.

Hi Ian,
I've never needed to use the AA breakdown insurance while abroad. But it is just what it says on the tin, an insurance. If you divide it down by the number of days you will be away, then the daily rate comes down to not very much at all.
Nothing but praise for the AA. My 'Bird broke down at the ramp onto the ferry at Dover a couple of weeks ago. I had just driven about 350 miles from the north east without a problem. Stopped at the head of the boarding lane and switched off, as we were not boarding for 20 minutes. I got the signal to start up and move onto the ramp. Nothing but a whirring clicking sound from under the seat. The battery had collapsed. AA patrolman was there in less than 30 minutes, jump started the bike and diagnosed the fault. Directed to Honda dealer at Canterbury for replacement battery and back for a later ferry.
I dread to think what it might have cost me if the same fault had occurred at the other side of the channel, but I had taken out the AA continental Breakdown Insurance, knowing that if needed, I would be speaking to an English person with the language skills to get me out of trouble.
?42 for peace of mind for a week is not so much really.

I get mine FREE ( a Yorkshiremans favourite price) with my Carole Nash insurance. I had to use them once when the battery on the FJ went POP in France (it ran dry and made a POP noise when I tried to start the bike!) and they were very good.
