Have a great time. You're a hero.

I knew a guy in the 70's who had numerous bars to his Elefant rally medal. He had an R60/5 and Steib. Dudley Smith, flat cap, park drive and a singing voice like Al Bowley.

Love reading about the Elefant. I used to have to some magazines with the writings of the founder, Ernst Leverkus and his Green Elefant Zundapp.

Fantastic. Would love to see some piccies when u get back.

3 wheels on my wagon.........

This is the more "trad" one at the Nurburgring. The "mad" one is held over near the Slovak border. I'm looking forward to it - mind you it is snowing and minus 3 today so I might be a little cold over the week-end! Winter draws on as they say!

I did The Elephant from 72 through to 84 both the Ring and in Austria, always camped in the snow. Used a BMW R69S and steib. Loved every minute, are good memories of my stupid youth

There's never any arguing here except between people who disagree!! - and they just do what JAWS tells 'em or else he threatens to send Bert.....

Jeez - that was cold. 1300 miles door-door just to freeze my nuts off. Had real problems crossing the hills into Germany - snowing like hell and we couldn't get any traction - back wheels just spinning away. Inside lane of a motorway doing 5 mph! Had a great time - wimped out on camping saturday night though - it has been snowing/raining for 3 weeks and the camp site was a lake! I didn't fancy lobbing up the tent in that - my 2 mates stayed though - I went back to the Hotel! They looked knackered Sunday morning. There were about 2500 other lunatics there - the place was heaving. Bit of heaven for a sidecar fan - all sorts of wierd and wonderful outfits there.
That's another ambition crossed off the list - glad I did it though. I will post some pictures when I get sorted.
