I’m with Jaws on this - total 100% bollox.

The only time I have had an iPhone get hot regularly is my last one that unfortunately got baked to within a degree of turning to lava when I fell asleep on a beach and it sat in blazing sunshine for a couple of hours. After that incident it got really hot every time it was recharged and the battery life was dreadful.

Every iphone I have ever owned has been kept in a wallet without incident. Also saves it when dropped.

So, in summary, that video is total 100% bollox.

Wellllllllllllll
Not total bollox as the app does work on old LiOn cells which in time do go way out of balance reducing the over all capacity
It really bugs me fones do not have a worthwhile BMS ( battery Management System ) module fitted

There is a difference between batteries losing capacity/effectiveness over time and going into meltdown mode?

I would suggest you go read up on LiOn batteries Andy
Just a starter, LiOn batteries getting warm is not the same as one going in to meltdown
I spent a great deal of time 2 years ago studying them. how they work, charge, discharge, are made and behave ( Malone will know why )

Malone

Been there, and had one

I had an early iPhone that decided it didn’t want to be held by a sweaty hand and swelled to double its normal size. That was an early form of lithium battery.

my current motorhome has a lithium battery fitted but I have no concerns that anything like that will happen to it. Technology has changed for the better.
