If you wanna watch a drum solo, go for Ginger Baker with Cream from the Albert Hall - on double DVD.

Yu know, it is very easy to forget the drummer and how clever they really are..

This is an excellent reminder and pure class ! ( And I have the Cosy Powell single still ! )

Neil Peart of Rush was the best one I have seen followed by a Dutch lad called Ton Dijkman who toured with Jan Akkerman a couple of years ago

if you want to see some seriously good drumming, and with all due respect to this vid which i posted, he kicks buddy rich out of touch, keep an eye out for the jazz kit player gary novak. he doesn't front bands, but even if he is just a member of the band, it's worth going to the gig for him alone. i've been at gigs where he's done 5-7minute solos, and you don't see his hands...

he plays with chick corea and joe locke a great deal.

ps buddy rich once said that he refused to practice outside his performances!! git!!   :yo:

Sly Dunbar. Jamaican Reggae drummer. Best sense of rhythm I've ever heard.
