am i the only person in the world who sometimes adds fruit to a chicken curry?

I always chuck a handful of sultanas in and sometimes add sliced apple and banana a few minutes before taking off the heat.

Always surprises visitors. Who always enjoy it when they get their heads round it.

Ruddy lovely.

I often add sultanas when making curry, goes back to the currys my mother used to make.
I also like pineapple on pizzas, specially with chillies.
Strawberries in salad is another favourite.

I add cashews or pine nuts to salads with good results.

Even though salads are the food equivalent to diesel cars.

The fruit, coconut etc isn't added to the curry, it is served as a condiment once served.
All the ship I sailed on with Indian crew always had a condiment tray with sultanas, coconut, chopped onion, chopped tomato, mango chutney .

I put sultanas in and often have slices of cold banana placed on the curry before wolfing it down. I did put apple in too many years ago but just seem to have drifted away from doing it like that.. must try that again sometime.

I'm truly amazed that fruit in currys is so earth shattering, the only sick part is Derek liking pineapple with a pizza :eeek::vomiton22je::vomiton22je::vomiton22je::vomiton:

Who made that law then?

The joy of adding fruit to the curry is that it soaks up the sauce and provides an interesting addition.

Stuff on the side is, well, stuff on the side.

My typical pizza has spicy beef, spicy chicken, jalapenos & pineapple.

A friend once looked in disgust at me having pineapple on pizza until I pointed out that he was eating, sweet & sour pork, he had no idea it was made with pineapple, thick twat.

I hope it is fresh pineapple - the tinned stuff doesn't float my boat at all.

Fresh one is about £1. Bargain.

If making it myself then more often than not it’s fresh however I have been known to cheat but I like tinned pineapple.

Bought a big punnet of mushrooms yesterday so today I made a cream of mushroom soup, didn’t last long though Bev & I enjoyed it with a tiger loaf.

I must have something wrong with me (Food wise before the jokers start :p). I cannot stand and never have enjoyed curry.

I have tried and eaten food from all over the world, but curry just does not do it for me.

Weird.

Tastes also change. I used to enjoy a Chinese takeaway but even the thought of it makes me grimace now, despite the fact that they have looked and tasted the same for years. And they pretty much all come from the same place (trust me, I know this!).

As a kid I didn't like yoghurt, cheese, bacon, garlic and cucumber. Love them all now.
