Bristlehound.. an update

Guys and gals...
I have been in contact with Bristlehound over the last few days with reference to the recent uproar on here...
First off I would like to stress that as admin I can take no sides, only make observations from which you can use your own judgement.
1) It struck me at the time of the first post that if Bristlehound was trying to be two faced he was not doing a good job of it, because he suggested folk go take a look !
2) looking back over the past several months, Bristlehound has got a bit of a funny way with words.. If you look at his posts as if they are meant to be maliceous then they can be read as that... but equally, if you read them as being written with humour then they (mostly) can be taken in that way too.
3) repeatedly in that flame ridden thread bristlehound did appologise for causing offence.
This he repeated to me personally. He has also asked that the flamed thread be deleted ( and as he was the originator I have respected his wishes, the same as I would for anyone else who feels they have posted something they should not have done )

Ok, thats about the most relavent facts..
Now, there are two options..either we accept that Bristlehound is sorry for causing offence and let the matter drop once and for all, or.. errrr we dont !

My view is that we all go through life making cock ups.. Bristlehounds cock up was only in thinking that the two groups had similar interests ( which we do ) and might cross frontiers so to speak ( which, given what has gone on before, seems a little unlikely ! ).. I honestly do not think he realised just how high feelings still run over what happened last year.

Finally I would just like to say that I really do appreciate why folk said what they did, and how many of you defended both BIRD and it seemed, me personally..
I think most of you know me well enough to understand when I say I really hate it when any of you guys fall out for any reason.. Yer, I know its feck all to do with me really.. but its just the way I am...

However fact remains that there are numerous "nasty" posts on the ixxra forum aimed specifically at me as well as the BIRD site

Whilst these are "water off a ducks back" as far as I'm concerned, as they say "no smoke without fire"

At the end of the day, my view is to let sleeping dogs lie - get it - Bristle HOUND?????

I over-reacted in my reply to the Bristly one's post, though I felt strongly about defending BIRD and it's admin team in light of 'politics' between the two groups that have existed in the past.

My view is that as Bristle seems to have been unaware of any 'history' between the sites, he should be welcomed here with open arms.

my reaction to BH's thread on here

was soley based on what I have previously read on IXXRA that he himself has posted. I had read these posts when they were originally posted so I was more than aware of his comments prior to his posting on Bird. Very uncomplimentary things not only about Bird as a group but us as individuals.

Whether he knew or not about previous problems for me is irrelevant. No one should post malicious comments about others. I quite often go and look at IXXRA, to see if there's anything interesting but to go there and find this site spoken of with spite and the members insulted is for me offensive.

Bristlehound was not alone in that outspokeness, but the others don't come here. So if he would like to come and join us then that is fine, but please don't expect me to forgive if you continue to malign this group and members either here or on IXXRA. This works both ways, as I am personally fed up with the constant bickering that is found on either site. As BH said, we are all here for the same thing

Lets have a pleasant community to visit wether it be IXXRA or BIRD.

With much confusion/false acusations/dodgy rumours & the such like,one forum split into two. Lets not go down that route as it's old news and something I feel we don't need to drag up.Those who know ,do & those that don't shouldn't need to get lost in old shit and Chinese whispers.

Folk settle for whichever forum/mates they prefer to hang with & some like to flick from URL to URL. Fair enough,people can brows wherever the hell they want to.
So ya on ya fav forum,you build up a reppor with various people and when ya think ya know 'em well enough,you enter into banter and the odd ocasional name calling and pi$$ taking.This is all in the name of light hearted fun and as I said-when ya get to know someone,ya kind of know how far you can push the point & keep it in the realms of friendship.Lets face it,if your on the same thread/forum as them,ya might as well be talkin' face to face.
Now if I'm having a private conversation with someone on the net,email or on the phone,then I'll speak mi mind BUT I'll never slag someone off on line & in puplic viewing if I know it might offend. Everyone is entitled to a personal opinion & if you don't like somebody or something then I always keep in mind that,that could really hurt someone or make them feel alienated.
If of course I do want to tell someone what I think of them-then I'll speak in the first person and in full view of their eyes and not post acidic comments behind their backs and think they may never read them.

So ya on a forum which is slowly dwindling into obscurity. Ya members post less & less & your founder member has desided to move onto new and exciting things. Your bored and want to be part of something a little bit more upbeat in terms of posting flow and lots of different subjects and want a bit of a change from replying to the same handfull of people who constantly pound the same tired threads over and over again until no one responds for several days. Fair enough-you can brows wherever you want to.
BUT - don't get the arse 'ol when ya turn up @ a forum trying to be all meek & mild when you've quite clearly been picking on an individual behind his back & thinking that those comments will never be spotted(Yea even the heavily hinted ones). It's not just that person who spotted them but other individuals as well.
If it was ment to be harmless banter-then you'd have been on this forum (as well as still being a member of IXXRA) and formed a rappor & posted these comments screen to screen with the person you'd targeted.Then at least you could have one-one responces with each other.
So Bristle me o'l mucker - Do expect a tad of animosity.Can U honestly say you didn't think you'd get any ?
And there's me being told politely to stay on the BIRD forum and politely disuaded from re-aplying to IXXRA. WHY? I never slagged off someone without thinking they might not read it or as one of a clique of angst ridden individuals who hide away and utter harmful words thinking I'm hidden in a dark corner of the world's internet system.EVERYONE can see you if they choose.

I ain't gunna say 'I think you can't come on the BIRD forum' It ain't my choice,But if ya do log in more frequently then ya gunna have to show me you're genuine before I take an interest in who YOU really claim to be And not see you scurrying back to ya hole for a slaggin' match.

Hey BIF,
whilst I'm an admirer of personalizing one's rocket-sled, I have to say that I've never seen a bike that announces itself any more than that Banana-SplitMobile ya went and constructed!!! Great job on the project - if I ever get over there and ride, I know the plod will be looking at that yellow beasty screaming along and not my stealthy black one. :-: Congrats on the new position, too!!! You deserve the absolute best!!!
For consolation, you ought to see what state my bike is in...I was stopped at a stoplight and some old snaggly Oakland Raiders fan on a Harley pulled up alongside and started praising how great my bird looked...He was sincere, I was speechless, and if ya knew me, you would know how big a deal THAT would be!! I rode away wondering "what the hell have I gotten myself into now?" Long story, ask John for the humorous version...:blush:
