After a brief discussion with the client (young chinese gentleman) telling him that their calculations are wrong and they are away to put too much torque on the winch by lifting 200Te 50m in the air for a test he tells me not to worry even when I tell him the net result will be BOOM !!!
well 200Te is lifted the 50m in the air with the Hydraulic Power Unit labouring away and what happens when they try to lower it

four hydraulic motors expolde at once sending shrapnel and debris in our direction at high speed

Got it on video but all you can see after the boom is me and the other lads feet goin like the clappers

( used to work daily with 300t lifts of molten metal in a Melting Shop so know a lot about shitting my pants)

Surprisingly little damage done and new motors being fitted just now have asked how they are going to test now and been told they will do the same test with the same weight but the PLC controls have been changed, I will be standing a little further back and the camera will be rollingp0pc0rn41c7u8

Nah that was about 3 years ago had it for a couple of months then sold it for twice what I paid for it much to the missus's joy she called it my gerryatric mobile @tu*

and Jon that fella walked to the other side of the winch as it blew up not one person injured luckily

Nah think it was a 320SEC as far as I can remeber.
Dont know how the second lift went they didn't want us there for it:dunno:
