Don't do it, last time I used cheaper (HH) pads in mine the brakes were bloody awful, it really aint worth trying to save a couple of quid on something as important as your brakes

I haven't used their HH pads, but had their organic pads on the back of my last bike. They were... ummm... cheap. That's about it. Even worse than EBC's organic pads, which I'd rather stay away from!

I`ve used them and not had a problem with them, its down to the individual i guess.

You mean some individuals want to stop in 25m and others are happy to stop in 35m?:dunno:

No, I mean they worked fine for me,

I take it you`ve used them and didn`t like them.

Anyway, isn`t it about time you left again?

:yo:Was it the HH ones you used,Honda say you should replace all 3 sets together being a linked system.I never bother, but all 3 need replacing soon and because of the miles i am racking up getting to work i need to start to budget on my running costs until can find local job.

Sorry but i do not understand the mentality of having a bike capable of silly speeds and then opting for a set of cheap brake pads :dunno:

Well noted Gypsy its not only how fast the bike can go its how hard you can pull her up if you need to. Pay the money yer tight git :violin: as they say you get what you pay for and the last thing you want to be thinking as you try and pull the grips to your chest is "well at least I've saved enough for a couple of pints"

define silly speeds?

does every bird on here running the most expensive tyres, batteries, brake pads, are you all using superduper unleaded, with octane booster added to it, is your chain and sprocket kit ?300 + are sprockets titainium then shaved for more weight saving, are your forks ohlins?

everybody has a budget, most people dont reach a speed let alone a silly one.

Never tried them armstrong jobbies so i cant comment on them.

give them a go and see what they are like, if they shit then you have lost ?40, if they suit you then you are fine.

If you want Armstrong HH I can do them for ?35.00 for all three sets and that includes postage..

But... The price when compaired to EBC pads is a good indication of the quality.
I have used a set and they were ok for most riding, but then I got a bit busy and they did seem to start to fade a bit

I take it you`ve tried them then Gypsy?

Its just that when I did I found them ok, no problems, the fact that they are TUV approved helped my decision in trying them. I`m no riding god, but have been know to ride to the conditions available and still never had any problems.

They worked fine in me VTR Firestorm that I was using for track days a couple of years back too.

Yes p.ludlow they were the HH ones. Has the seller sold any previously? is there any feedback you could help your judgement?

It`s like changing the 3 sets together, some people do some people dont.

And there ya go, Jaws has spoke, an even better deal on Armstrong, ring the man.

They would be ?20.80 a pair Pete.

And as it happens, if you do fancy trying a set of Armstrongs, I am placing an order with the company that supplies them tomorrow morning.

18 months ago I bought the wavy disc set from Ally Pally show, came with Armstrong pads. I do ride in ALL weathers (snow 2 days ago), in the wet these pads are "Diabolical" and frightening, on the first pull in the wet, nothing happens for what seems like 2-3 seconds. If you can deal with that then fine...I personally didnt and have Honda pads once again.
Cheers
Derek
