Bit of a strange one

Short notice, and it's on a weekday, but I'm doing a cross country run from Stroud to W. Sussex on Wednesday 6th. Anyone is welcome to join me for all or part of the bimble. Would be good to meet members from the South.

Here's the odd bit. I'm meeting my cousin for lunch near Burgess Hill between noon and 3pm, so that would leave you to do your own thing (perhaps going down to Brighton) during that period.

Have not finalized the route yet, but will certainly include A272, and perhaps A24 Box Hill. Any info on the latter would be helpful. After looking at the web site, still not certain whether the biking bit is the short stretch of the 24 between Leatherhead and Dorking, or the smaller road to Pebble Coombe.

Will post the Garmin route later, but open to suggestions.

The bit between Leatherhead and Dorking is what you want. It?s called the Mickleham bends, you can stay on the A24 towards Horsham this takes you on to the capel bypass nice fast road hope this helps.

Chris you won't miss me if I take the Duke, you should be able to hear me when I'm in Wotton Basset:eek:

Taffy it depends on which way you go I spose, all M/way to Chippenham turnoff I'd say it was about 50 miles would be good to see you there (you still doing Donny next week?)

Soz Taff can't say for definite because I'm working down in Exeter tomorrow so it all depends on me getting back in time. It's an easy place to find just get off the M4 at junction 16 Follow the signs to Wroughton, when you get into the town go right at the T junction then just keep going for about 10 miles you can't miss the pub.

If I can go I can meet you at the Junction on the M4, best bet is I'll give you a bell tomorrow afternoon

Got back at 9.15 pm after a good day's ride.

Have to say the Mickleham bends were a bit of an anticlimax, as a dual carriageway has been reduced to single lane with 50 limit. Just a well I was stuck behind line of traffic, as there was a scamera van on central reservation c7u8

Met up with Andy at the Red Lion. Gruf was suposed to be there as well, but goodness knows where he got to. Last seen heading towards Bath, I heard.

Well it definitley turned into a strange one for me and Taff, somehow we managed to lose contact with each other after just meeting up, Taff went North and I went South:dunno:

Nice to see Chris at Avebury, quite a good turnout of bikes and not much sign of plod about (apart from the copper who turned up on a Harley Ferguson fully kitted up blue lights 'n' all:lol:)

Taff actually ended up in Stow-on-the-Wold at a bike meet there, so I had a blat down there after a quick drink and a burger at the Red Lion.

They've finaly opened the Wroughton to Siddington road again and what a lovely road it is now (no more getting ejected out of the saddle every couple of hundred yards). Got to the Fox Inn at Stow only to find Taff had just leftc7u8. Loads of bikes still there though so looking forward to going to the next one they have (somewhere in Gloucester next week). Ended up doing about 160 miles on the 996 :eek:and I've gotta say it's the first time I've actually enjoyed riding it.
