As much as you might be baffled by the concept ( ) the Bird IS a bikeEr, no it wasn't - it wasn't would I buy a bike, now would I buy a Bird.
I'm not sure it's me that is baffled - I was asked if I would buy another bike, I answered 'yes, in the right circumstances' but raised the question of whether said Bike would be a Bird...........As much as you might be baffled by the concept ( ) the Bird IS a bike
Try a Jawa 350 Andy...

And I still haven't answered......
And I said I would.Did I miss a post..?
As far as I can see, you've not actually answered the question yet ....If you had to buy another bike for your daily commute (as it was)....
And I said I would.
.????
DOH !! its like pulling teeth !!!!
Are you going in to politics And ???
So you WOULD buy another bike what bike might it be ?
That's a good question.
If I were using it for exactly the same purpose I.e. 26 mile commute in and out of central London every day, 20 miles motorway, three miles windy country lanes, rest crawling in traffic I can't honestly say that the Bird was ideal. The FI struggled in traffic in really hot weather and I suspect that is what was behind the never ending charging problems I had.
However, it was ace at the other bits.
If it were to buy with my head it would be something smaller but with a bit of bodywork for all year riding - the Fazer 600 (that had aftermarket lower fairing) and BMW F650 I had were more than adequate. Maybe even one of the big scooters, although they are massively overpriced new.
If I were buying with my heart it would be a carb Bird - I think it would cope better with the hot weather traffic stuff than the FI - mine did.
At the end of the day I would go with a Bird just because they look so bloody good from the front and, let's face it - they are pretty cool.
For a bike.
That's the one I had, albeit 650.Interesting you mention the beemer.
Another make and model that went backwards as time went on
The old bmw GS600 ( single cylinder Rotax ) was comfier, easy to ride and easy to look after
I don't have many posts as I deleted some 40 000 odd a few years ago as most of the Fucktards on here didn't deserve to read them. How many of them are your posts, Lumpy?
My Gayzer (98 with 02 top fairing) has 141 000 on the odometer now, it's the best 2nd, 3rd, 4th bike I have ever had. That's a good question.

If you can find aftermarket lower fairing you pretty much have the perfect all rounder.
My 03 was silver and I could only find yellow lowers. Looked rubbish but better after a couple of cans of satin black.
Good owners website as well. Better than this one.......

In fairness - Only since I moved from there to hereIf you're talking about the UK Fazer Owners Club then I can't totally agree with you , AB. The banter is far better on here.
