Even the emoji above agrees - note how frequently the diesel driver in the one above has to change gear in a futile attempt to stay within the power band between 1812 rpm and 1817 rpm.

Can't see him smiling.....

All cars do basically the same thing, why fork out a mortgage on something when you can get just as good for not as much?
Because you can.

Same reason why people ride Blacbirds rather than Honda Cubs, despite the fact that the Cub is a better bike.

My brothers focus automatic is in the garage AGAIN, apparently the computers are having a tiff, my old Diesel fiesta manual is still rolling along, older cars may drink a bit more, but by heck you can fix them easier  less to go wrong.

You seem to have avoided my question about road tax, which is largely based on pollution levels.......

:icon_popcorn:
Um, my road tax is the same as the equivalent petrol, the 340i, which is nowhere near as fast or economical as mine. Doesn’t have the torque to pull the skin off a rice pudding either:p

Yes, proper cars that pull like a train and use less fuel. Proper cars with diesel engines.
Unfortunately they also sound like a train and leave a coating of fuel residue over the planet.

While in Bath last week I was interested to see a campaign to ban diesels due to the damage they are causing to ''Cotswold stone' buildings. It is quite scary.

I would say the 330i is a better comparison?

Was this the same place where they damaged someone’s car because it was yellow & they reckoned it spoilt the village?
Some people really need to get a life & start thinking for themselves rather than reacting in mock horror to fake news.

In all seriousness Derek, the buildings were virtually black on the main road. I can see where they are coming from.
