I have a raised bed surrounded by a brick wall approx 10' x 2' x 2'.
I am considering planting an apple tree in it but am thinking the roots may eventually push the bricks out.
I have heard of people planting apple trees in pots on patios without them destroying the pots.
Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

You can grow fruit trees in containers or anywhere you fancy really. as long as the tree has a dwarf root stock. The root stock M27 will only allow a tree to grow to about 4 feet in height. Look online, Thomson and Morgan or any of the big retailers will sort you out, or try a local nursery if you have one.

Don't forget to keep the tree well fed if you go down the pot route. The goodness in a pot of soil wont last long.
