There is a big problem with getting involved these days, the person you are helping could be out of their heads on spice & you don't want to inhale that.
A few years back there was a case of a guy who suffered a heart attack claiming that St John's ambulance guys had broken his Rolex whilst saving his life.

A few months ago I spotted a bloke in the river, he was obviously off his head on something & looked in danger of drowning so I called the law & kept track of him as he was carried downstream while another bloke stood by the road keeping track of me & waiting to flag down the cops etc

Once they arrived we got out of the way but the lights & sirens attracted gawpers, , I spotted one filming on a phone & getting in the way despite the cops telling him to shift 9there was only two of them at that time & had their hands full, I lost my rag a little so grabbed the idiot & promised to chuck him in if he didn't feck off now :)

When it was all done & the bloke was saved a copper sidled over & said thanks for that mate, you did what I wanted too (y)
And today's contender is....

Presumably his 'somewhere to be' was 'out of yorkshire'.

Understandable.

Can't have been.... his car is faultless and he would never leave it unattended in Yorkshire.....
Two points;

- the sunroof has started making an odd noise
- I would never leave it unattended in any city in Yorkshire. I would leave it unattended in Darrowby

Never understood the point of sunroofs....

Talking of Darrowby, The Yorkshire Vet is proving quite an entertaining prgramme to watch. (y)
Proof that Yorkshire folk do have a soft spot for dumb animals.....

Two roads in our housing estate were properly resurfaced this week:campeon:. Plenty of warning signs went up about 2 or 3 weeks ago warning people of the upcoming work and that it would be a no parking zone during that time with the final day of work earmarked for the 20th.
Needless to say upon the final day (with 13 tipper loads of tarmac enroute) there were cars of two dick heads parked up between the no parking cones. The road workers went from door to door searching for the considerate owners, eventually the police were called.
In the meantime, the surfacing machinery was repositioned and they started working from the other end of the street. Police arrived and they started knocking on doors. One owner could not be found although he did turn up towards the end of the day and vented his anger towards the road workers who gave him a bit of stick, after all it was a Friday and they just wanted to get the job done... You couldn't make it up could you:rolleyes:

For weeks on my route to work (some nice fast twisties) there have been signs saying "cat's eyes removed"(I was going to report the matter to the RSPCA) :) suddenly without warning the road was closed for three days, when the road reopened it was covered in gravel & was quite dangerous with skid risk warnings posted at every bend.
The road is once again closed for three days & reopens on Tuesday, hopefully fully tarmacced but not with that Sma shite.

Yes, you could make it up.

Where I used to live it was a very narrow road. Got home from a weekend away to find someone parked on the opposite side of the road to our driveway so we couldn't even get the car in. They could have parked a hundred yards in either direction and not caused anyone a problem.

Did the door knocking thing with no joy and checked with the police to see if it had been dumped (I know people:eusa_whistle:) . We had builders starting the day after, when they turned up the couldn't do anything as they couldn't get their gear in.

So we stared bouncing the car ((which was a bit of a shed) down the road - within seconds an elderly lady appeared doing her nut. That was a short conversation.

You could do your back in doing that, you should have used a 360 excavator like what they do in China

This is a very real concern. I heard a story a while back where an old fella collapsed in the street following a heart attack and a bystander attempted the chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth until the ambulance arrived. Anyhoo, the chap died and his parasite family tried suing the bystander saying it was his fault. Absolute scum of the earth.

Apparently in China if someone has an accident & needs medical assistance nobody will get involved as they become liable for costs.
There was a clip on U tube where a child was hit by several cars & people just watched.

Same in Nigeria. If you're in a taxi or something and it gets hit or hits something else the driver will more than likely do a runner so if the police arrive then you'll be liable so get out and run like fuck. Whatever you do, just be some place else.

Stuff like that will eventually stop people from getting involved in the first place, they would have prob sued him for standing by and doing nothing in that case.

On a similar but sort of reversed thinking... What about MGM (the owners of the Mandalay Hotel in Vegas) suing the 1000 VICTIMS of the mass shootings a while back, just can't get my head round that. That hotel should be boycotted big time.

Oh for gawds sake
..........

Mother in law ordered a rug from a magazine advertisement (dangerous in itself) a when delivered there was a note enclosed.

'The item you ordered is out of stock so we have sent an alternative product'.

So we are now lumbered with sending a 10' x 8' rug back that is nothing like that she ordered.
