Following a thread started by Wolfie I did a bit of reading on the subject and decided to give it a go. The car I'm using is a Peugeot 406 1.8 petrol with 44000 miles on the clock. Over the past 13000 miles it has returned an average of 37.1mpg and has a 70 ltr tank so I added 175ml to the first fill up yesterday which is a 1 in 4000 mixture.
I then did 150 miles during the day, the engine appears to run no different than it did prior to adding the Acetone although I felt it did perform cleaner in the higher rev range than previous. That could be a placebo effect of course so I shall concentrate on the mpg improvement (if any) and report back to the forum with up to date effects whenever I fill up.

I wont be trying Acetone in my Thunderace mainly because it is an extremely effective paint stripper. Pouring liquids into the car filler neck is one thing but its more difficult with a horizontal fuel flap found on bikes.
