Apparently if you ride like a tit, you can get the tank range down to 130 with the last bar blinking.
Then riding at 56mph to next station, your surprised that it only needed 24 litres....

The solution is in your own hands, Trevor. Well in one hand anyway. :DI always meant to see how far I could squeeze out of a tank but my patience ran out long before the fuel!

The most I've had out of a tank on the bird is 157, only done it once & it took great restraint, why have a bike capable of great speed & worry about fuel economy?

Never worried about it, it just happened.

Think you might worry about it while hurtling around Scotland.
We nearly missed a single pump fill up while heading into a 'no mobile phone signal' wilderness!
Now that would have been fun. :)

I'm in the process of seeing what I get before it gets to the last bar which
seems to be about 160-170 before it starts flashing.
Not sure about from there to running out, I did do about 25 odd miles after it started
flasher, praying for a service station coming out of South Wales.

my first few tanks in mine I'm filling up when needle says empty at about 160 or so miles... but I'm only managing to get 17/18 litres in the tank so over 200 is going to be easy when the need arises.

    Got 200 once by mistake.
    Trick is to fill it.
First few times I thought I had.
If you persist it takes a lot more after it looks full.

I was out west in the deep country and hadn't noticed the gauge as I was intent on finding landmark. No idea how long it was flashing..... then out of the dark appeared a single pump at a house.

Those BMW GS Adventures have 30 litre tanks. Get 300 miles out of one of those, easy.

    The needle is quite deceptive.
I put a small bend in the float, it meant it didn't move till I was down to 2 1/2 gallons then followed (quite well) the markings on the dial, goes into red when light comes on.
Better to be accurate when approaching empty that full.

Getting it down to 130, you're not really trying!

I got 216 miles from 19.9 litres last fillup. That works out roughly 49mpg....not bad, as I dont exactly hang around. This was on a bit of a run mind. I normally get mid 40s.

The bike came with a Power commander (removed now), but must have been massively over-fueling, as I was getting 39mpg average...
